Page Flipper

I read, I promise. Kind of. Sure, Gravity's Rainbow and any Soren Kierkegaard book is good. But I've become assured that my impulsive pleasure goes directly to illustrations. I have more kid's books than any novel probably worth reading on my shelves. Out of everyone though, I am afraid, that Burkert and Shepard have stolen my heart with their beautiful tones. Burkert's renaissance references and perfectly lined drawings never escape my mind and Shepard's whimsical hand with the "I can't quite describe it" colors are wonderful.

Athena Stuebe

So, I am not the biggest fan of Stylelikeu.com, mainly because all the styles get mushed together and I can't focus on something in particular. Also, there are only a few styles on there that I would call especially 'unique'. However, while browsing I could not help but find this little girl,Athena Stuebe, suck me into her choices of clothing. I have to say that I now want a cleverly made Halloween cardi.

Now I am going to Tennessee to buy goodies and spend time with the family. I hope everyone has a Happy Holidays.

Vintage is good but New Vintage is amazing

While snooping around on Etsy, (I say snooping because my boyfriend ordered things for me on there that can easily be seen) I found the most beautifully renewed dresses. It's a nice feeling to find something I'm not bored with since clothing has been tiring me as of late. The structure of the dresses are lady like enough to not be overly cutsie. They look a bit like Charlotte "Chuck" Charles wardrobe from Pushing Daisies and a bit Sound of Music. If that's not your thing there are also dresses and rompers space age worthy for Hitchhiker Galaxy girls out there. The store is Dig for Victory and there is also the boutique website Dig for Victory. At 95$ a dress I am smitten. There are a few for sale at the moment and I'm sure I'll have to get one very soon.

Silent Film on Volume

No matter how hard I try it seems that whenever I do rag curls they don't turn out the way I want. I end up looking like Richard Simmon's love child, although that's impossible. Today I still did them too tight but I dealt with it by making myself think they looked like a Madge Bellamy curl. Which of course, that was a figment of my imagination. However, I took some photos and vid shot just to see how it looked. I suppose this is what I am going to look like today.

Introductions are easy

Finally, after much deliberation and sighing, I have created a blog. Attempting to keep it up could be the hardest but I have an idea that it might just be the opposite. For introductions, my name is Monte Amelia. I enjoy baking, think tanking, and selling vintage on the side. I'm going to school to be a librarian and I am sick of seeing I's so I am going to stop. Blogging seems like fun so there is going to be lots of jibber jabbering about clothes, recipes, my life and what not. For now, I have an advisor meeting but I'm going to leave you with items that I want at the moment to get a better idea of what's to come.
